To Sleep Better: Do some physical activity
As someone who lives with mental illness, I know first hand how important a good night’s sleep is. I also know that for some of us, getting to bed can be extremely difficult, and sometimes, anxiety inducing. The daily struggle when I get into bed can be a nightmare. In order to sleep better, physical activity is essential. Getting just 2.5 hours of exercise a week can help you sleep better and feel more alert during the day. A recent study determined that getting this much moderate to vigorous activity a week lead to a 65% improvement in sleep quality. This increase is significant and can also lead to increased awareness during the day, which leads to improvement in quality of life!
So what is the 1 thing to do to sleep better? Go for a morning jog, take your dog for a run, practice some yoga, or take a class at your local gym! JUST DO IT !
