Adult colouring books have risen in popularity over the last year, but Carl Jung had prescribed them to his psychiatry patients years ago! In fact it can overall reduce anxiety levels. This means you are reducing your overall stress level while moving into a meditative state. A recent report out of the Journal of the American Art Therapy Associate discovered that mandala creation reduced negative mood states compared to creation of square shapes. The circular shape of the mandala served as an “active ingredient” in enhancing mood.
